Key West Climate
Six months of the year, Key West is a small American town with a population of 30 thousand. From November to April, the population swells to about 75 thousand as two million visitors a year escape the northern weather to our tropical island. Key West has always been frost-free. The lowest recorded temperature is 41 degrees Farenheit. Our average temperature is 77F. In the winter the average is about 70F, and in the hottest part of the summer we average 87 degrees, with cooling ocean breezes and rainshowers keeping the heat down.
The nearby Gulf Stream keeps the ocean waters warm enough to swim in all year round.
